These two artists have contributed about a half dozen works a piece to brilliantly compliment the GUNYBI show. We are proud to present in a two-person show, these two artists who have shown in group shows at Annandale Galleries in the past. Dhurrumuwuy was feature artists in the ?YOUNG GUNS II? show last year and BOLINY exhibited in ?NEW ART INTO OLD? in 2001.
Both artists come from illustrious families of artists.

BOLINY WANAMBI (born 1957 -) is a matriarch of her family and community who overcame some serious health issues in 2004 and whose wisdom and positive outlook are a resource upon which all can draw. Her paintings are immediately recognizable with a distinctive style. She tells her clan stories with a style that is both ornate and very free. Close inspection of the swirling patterns and intricate brushwork is rewarded each time with a different view depending on the available light and the mood of the viewer. These are uplifting paintings ? almost celebratory in nature. BOLINY?S work is in numerous public and private collections including the National Gallery of Australia.

DHURRUMUWUY MARIKA (born 1981 -) is the youngest artist of the famous MARIKA family to achieve his first mature body of work. His first works, produced in 2007 had already achieved high levels of artistic merit and cultural integrity. In his bio, Will Stubbs, who knows his work intimately says that the subsequent work has continued to build on these qualities. DHURRUMUWUY is a committed career orientated artist and I believe with his distinctive and confident style as well as the talents and influences of those around him, we will be hearing much more from this talented young artist in the future.
