Shiling Wu
Throwing Notes

My body of work expresses the visual representation of music through multiple hand-thrown ceramic pieces made in varying shapes and sizes with off key colors.

The process of producing this body of work closely represents the process of creating music. They both have the similarity in practice of repetition to achieve perfection under the confines of time.

I chose ceramics for the flexibility in manipulating oval shapes in clay due to its representation musical notes and once fired its capacity to produce sound which I performed by documenting a video as my reference.
